I was fortunate and privileged to attend the Celebration of Life Service for Jim Swan today. His faithfulness to Christ and to the Army were evidenced in each and every tribute and memorial statement.
The Royal Oak band played 'Men of Harlech' during the preliminary. It was the perfect choice as the triumphant theme of the music matched the triumphant way that Jim lived his life as a husband, father, grandfather, soldier, and more.
He was triumphant because he humbled himself and allowed Christ to triumph through him.
Even though his journey here is over, his Christlike example and servant lifestyle will continue to influence others in the days and years ahead -- including me.
His legacy will not soon be forgotten. May God bless the Swan family.
